Dispersing Agent Market Share, Growth, Outlook and Industry Chain Analysis Report to 2022

Global dispersing agent market is expected to witness significant growth over the forecast period. The key factor driving the market is the growing demand for end users industries such as paints & coatings, construction, detergents and oil & gas companies. In construction industry, the rising need for infrastructure leads to the increase in consumption of dispersing agent. The oil & gas industry is expected to witness rapid growth with increasing demand from the energy and automobile sector. Furthermore, the continuous development in the infrastructure and automotive sector is estimated to expand the market for dispersing agents in paint & coating industry.

The rising production of end products for use and for exports is expected to drive the massive demand for the chemicals owing to the benefits associated with it such as cost effective, environment friendly and emission control. The dispersing agents have shifted from solvent based system to water based system which has helped in reduction of the Volatile Organic Compound emissions in the environment. Thus, making it environment friendly. These agents are used for stable and easier suspension of particles in liquids. They help in reducing the viscosity of dispersion, thus improving the workability of fluids. Due to all these properties, there is an increasing demand for the dispersing agents from emerging as well as existing chemical companies and hence, contributing in the market growth over the decade.

The major strategy adopted by the manufacturers in the market is the new product development. Most of the chemical companies are engaged in the development of new and innovative products to meet the demand from the end users owing to increase their dispersing agents business. They are also trying to expand their production and operation capacities to new regions. The new product recently developed by MUNZING group are LUBA-print 694/R (MSA-modified polypropylene wax dispersion used for bonding metal foil and polyolefin), CERETAN MT9115 (a spherical, high melting and micronized Fischer Tropsch wax used for paint and coating and printing inks. It is an excellent scratch resistant and hydrophobizing), LUBA-print SEB 0820 ET (an ethanol based biopolymer dispersion for flexographic printing inks.

It has excellent slip properties, extraordinary rub resistance and is scratch resistant.), CRETAN MO 3220 (a spherical, oxidized, micronized polyethylene wax for industrial paints and coatings, printing inks. It is easy to disperse in water, show soft feel effect, has improved slip and anti-blocking property and has matting effect.), TAFIGEL PUR 82 (rheology modifier for aqueous system. It is an associative thickener which builds and stabilizes viscosity by forming a network between binder molecules, polyurethane and other paint ingredients. It is used in latex paints, interior and exterior paints, anticorrosive paints and printing inks.

The dispersing agents market can be segmented on the basis of types into high molecular and low molecular dispersants. Low molecular dispersants have weight between 800 g/mol to 2000 g/mol whereas high molecular dispersing agents have weight between 5000 g/mol to 30000 g/mol. Low molecular weight dispersants helps in separation of particles as they contain polar groups. On the other hand, high molecular weight dispersants use the concept of hydrogen bonding, Van der Waals forces and dipole-dipole interaction for the separation of particles to the maximum level. High molecular dispersants include polyacrylates and polyurethanes.
